For ze crust. Use less sugar/no sugar, 'cause this is for a quiche, not a pie!

Word to the wise. Don't put your baking sheets in the oven while it pre-heats and then try to put the filled quiches in them. You will spill the quiche mixture out into the baking sheets and burn your hands on the side of the oven. Arrgghhh!!

New Specs

Peachy modelling my new specs and artfully filtered. There's something about my yellow walls that wreaks havoc with her skin tone...

I did take a picture of me in them, and got a comically reflective view of me taking a picture of myself in the lenses, as I haven't had my prescription (plus anti-reflective coating!) put in yet. Maybe I'm a grouch, but I always laugh whenever I see people out and about with shiny lenses - in my mind this says "fake! I am only wearing these to look cool!" Perhaps they don't have the extra bucks to shell out, or they don't have super high index lenses (fancy technology for those of us with high prescriptions who don't want super thick lenses), etc. all perfectly valid reasons for going around shiny, but I just assume the worst.

I am scariest monster. Hehehe!

Gwaii Haanas!

Ooh la la! A fake tattoo of a sea otter and urchin! 

If ya didn't know, that's the symbol of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site (and now also National Marine Conservation Area). 

And it's even a UNESCO World Heritage Site to boot, putting it in the company of swanky places like the Pyramids, the Taj Mahal, the Great Barrier Reef, the Galapagos Islands...

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

In all my years as a Douglas Adams fan I have always forgotten May 25th (I always forget November 5th as well, but that's something else entirely). This year I remembered! And thus was able to celebrate Towel Day in high style - as high style as can be achieved with an ugly pink towel and my metaphor-mixing Vote for Zaphod button.

I missed my local library's 3rd Annual Vogon Poetry Slam! Though that was because I was at my local art gallery instead to check out their Art Spiegelman exhibit.

Can't win 'em all, eh? And there's always the 4th Annual...

Busy Busy Busy!

I started my new job a couple weeks ago. Things have been rather hectic, running hither and thither, a two day camping trip to the Gulf Islands... (yes, that's part of my job). Hopefully I can keep the posts going, but they may be less frequent. But! I do have a couple back stories/pics that I never got around to uploading, so those should be on their way...when I get to them.
